Starting Wage: $11.44/hour (Level 101)

Hours and Length of Internship: 40 hours a week, May – August 2017

Minimum Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.  Must be attending post-secondary education with an interest in Project Management, Data Analysis or a related field 

Minimum Experience: Three to six months related experience in a professional setting preferred

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of divisional and departmental policies and standard operating procedures
  • Familiar with the standard project management methodology and tools
  • Expertise with Microsoft products; specifically Excel, Access, Word, and Power Point
  • Ability to analyze a situation and come up with a conceptualized solution
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Have the ability to deal with non-verbal symbols in formulas, equations or graphs
  • The ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals and percentages
  • The ability to gather meaning full data in order to prepare concise and accurate reports

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Under immediate direction, the intern will assist and support the Office of Product Management in the development of process maps for workforce programs and services
  • Analyzes data trends, prepares spreadsheets with data interpretation, and creates reports
  • Performs related duties in support of the project effort (e.g. design, monitoring, data extraction, research and reporting)
  • Provides support with project meetings (schedules project meetings, assists with project documentation, and documents meeting minutes and project action/task items)
  • Creates/analyzes process workflows to increase efficiency with cross functional divisions and departments
  • Communicates project/program manager requirements
  • Supports project and service alignment efforts with Employ Milwaukee’s vision, mission and goals
  • Drafts internal correspondence, creates and maintains files, and performs general clerical duties as assigned
