Bon-Ton and JCPenney Workers Receiving Support and Services Through Employ Milwaukee’s Dislocated Worker Program

Employ Milwaukee is providing Rapid Response services to individuals from Bon-Ton, Inc and Boston Store. Workers are receiving support through Dislocated Worker/Unemployment Insurance/Job Service Information Sessions and using the Transition Centers to access services. Many workers have participated in multiple job fairs hosted by Employ Milwaukee to connect them employers seeking their skillset. Rapid Response services for Bon-Ton/Boston Store as of August 2018 include:

JCPenney Workers are also receiving Rapid Response services. Workers are receiving support through Dislocated Worker/Unemployment Insurance/Job Service/Social Security Administration Information Sessions and using the Transition Centers to access services. Many workers came to a recent job fair hosted by Employ Milwaukee at the Hampton Inn in West Allis. Rapid Response services for JCPenney as of August 2018 include:

Employ Milwaukee Hosts Recruitment Event with 26 Hiring Employers for Recently Dislocated Workers

On August 14, 2018, Employ Milwaukee held a Recruitment Event at the Hampton Inn & Suites in West Allis for workers affected by recent dislocations, including Boston Store, JCPenney, Concentrix and Guaranty Bank. There were 26 hiring companies and 182 job seekers in attendance. 

 

The week of May 7, 2018, Employ Milwaukee staff in coordination with the Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Job Service and Unemployment Insurance Division, held two Rapid Response Information Sessions attended by 376 Bon-Ton employees. Additionally, an on-site Transition Center was opened at the company’s corporate headquarters for impacted workers. Employees received assistance with registration on Job Center of Wisconsin (jobcenterofwisconsin.com), unemployment insurance (UI) registration, UI claims filing, resume building, resume critique, and labor market information, among other services. The week culminated with a job fair on Friday, May 11 at the corporate headquarters with a dozen employers with current job openings.
