Bon-Ton Workers Receiving Support and Services Through Employ Milwaukee’s Dislocated Worker Program

Employ Milwaukee has connected with approximately 536 individuals from Bon-Ton, Inc and Boston Store. Workers are attending Information Sessions and using the Transition Centers to access services. Many participated in a job fair at the Corporate Office with employers seeking workers with specific skillsets. Rapid Response services as of June 2018 include:

1 - Targeted Job Fair at Bon-Ton, Inc. Corporate

The week of May 7, 2018, Employ Milwaukee staff in coordination with the Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Job Service and Unemployment Insurance Division, held two Rapid Response Information Sessions attended by 376 Bon-Ton employees. Additionally, an on-site Transition Center was opened at the company’s corporate headquarters for impacted workers. Employees received assistance with registration on Job Center of Wisconsin (jobcenterofwisconsin.com), unemployment insurance (UI) registration, UI claims filing, resume building, resume critique, and labor market information, among other services. The week culminated with a job fair on Friday, May 11 at the corporate headquarters with a dozen employers with current job openings.
