Q: Where can I find Narcan / Naloxone and drug test strips for myself or others?
A: Narcan / Naloxone can be found at any of the locations below, along with other harm prevention tools such as fentanyl and xylazine test strips.

Q: How do I use Narcan / Naloxone to respond to a possible overdose?
A: The Milwaukee Health Department offers resources on how to use Narcan and how to respond to an overdose.

Q: Where can I go or who can I call to begin an assessment for recovery services?
A: The Community Access to Recovery Services (CARS) Department of Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Services offers a variety of community-based access point locations that you or your loved one can easily visit or call.

The staff at each community-based access point location are specially trained to help you or your loved one begin the CARS assessment process. Working with you or your loved one, they will make recommendations for the treatment and recovery services that best meet your needs.

Q: I have been impacted by opioid use – either personally, or by a loved one’s use – and have had difficulty obtaining employment. Is there support for me to enter the workforce?
A: The FORWD program seeks to help eligible individuals impacted by opioid use with training and supported employment in recovery-related fields. If you are interested in learning more about the program and seeing if you are eligible for services, visit the FORWD Job Seekers webpage. 

Q: I am an employer and would like to provide employment opportunities for people who have been impacted by opioid use. Can I participate in the FORWD program?
A: Employers that provide recovery-related services may be eligible to host participants in subsidized work placements if they are eligible and meet the program criteria. Visit the FORWD Employers webpage for more information.
