Youth between the ages of 14-21 can participate in the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office Explorer Program to gain hands-on learning experience in law enforcement. Those between the ages of 14-20 can also apply to be a Public Safety Cadet.

The Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Youth Apprenticeship Program offers Youth Apprenticeships in Law, Public Safety, Corrections, and Security. Learn more and apply here.

Minimum Requirements

To work in this role, you'll need:

  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • To be at least 21 years old
  • A valid driver's license
